Young People's Discovery Concerts
Each year the South Bend Symphony helps over 5000 students in grades 3-6 discover the world of music in a fun concert designed especially for them. These interactive concerts are guided from the stage and have a different educational theme each year. Study guides, activities, and reference CDs are provided in advance to help students and teachers prepare for the concert.
This year, the South Bend Symphony Orchestra will be presenting Carnival of the Animals, an exploration of the animals and music. The concerts will feature two local student pianists, as well as veterinarian and South Bend Symphony violinist, David Visser as our narrator. Come and join us for a musical safari at our new venue, O’Laughlin Auditorium on the campus of Saint Mary’s College.
