The South Bend Symphony Orchestra will move into 2020 with new Executive Director Justus Zimmerman at the helm.  Zimmerman comes to South Bend from the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra where he served as Director of Marketing and Communications. While there, Zimmerman oversaw a successful digital transformation, a strategic rebrand and the launch of the critically acclaimed SESSION series.

(November 27, 2019) – A wondrous week with the South Bend Symphony begins on Sunday, December 1st at 2:30 p.m. at the DeBartolo Performing Arts Center with a magical journey to the North Pole! Our 2019 Family Concert: Polar Express, under the direction of Music Director Alastair Willis, will take the audience into a world full of holiday cheer!

SOUTH BEND, In. (November 6, 2019) – This Saturday, November 9th at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, November 10th at 2:30 p.m. at the DeBartolo Performing Arts Center, the South Bend Symphony Orchestra presents a program of old and new favorites as the second concert of the 2019-20 Jack M. Champaigne Masterworks Series and the first concert of the June H. Edwards Mosaic Series.  Joining the orchestra is world-renowned violinist Ilya Kaler performing Vivaldi’s iconic violin concerto, The Four Seasons.

SOUTH BEND, In. (October 16, 2019) – On Saturday, October 19th at 7:30 p.m. at the Morris Performing Arts Center, the South Bend Symphony will kick-off its 2019-20 Indiana Trust Pops Series with an evening of iconic music by the leading ladies of Rock ’n Roll.  2017 Grammy Award Nominee Cassidy Catanzaro, multi-instrumentalist Celisse Henderson, and The Voice contestant Katrina Rose will have audiences dancing in their seats and singing the songs of the most iconic female singer/songwriters all the way home!

SOUTH BEND, In. (September 27, 2019) – The South Bend Symphony Orchestral will continue its successful “Happy Hour with the Symphony” series during the 2019-20 Season. Following a national trend, the SBSO launched the series during the 2018-19 Season featuring four unique events, each highlighting symphony musicians and local venues.

SOUTH BEND, In. (March 15 2019) – The sparkling city of Paris and a mass in the time of war - on Sunday, March 24th at 2:30 p.m. at the DeBartolo Performing Arts Center, the South Bend Symphony will perform the final concert in its 2018-19 June H. Edwards Mosaic Series in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the another musical giant of the South Bend community, The South Bend Chamber Singers. The performance will feature both the South Bend Chamber Singers and your SBSO with the works Mozart, Haydn, and a highly imaginative young composer Jake Runestad.

SOUTH BEND, In. (February 22, 2019) – On Friday, March 1st and Saturday March 2nd, the SBSO is thrilled to present the following three events:

SBSO Concert: Saturday, March 2nd at 7:30 p.m. at the Morris Performing Arts Center, the South Bend Symphony will perform Paganini Variations, the third concert in its Jack M. Champaigne Masterworks Series. This performance will spotlight internationally acclaimed pianist and Martin Endowed Professor of Piano at IU South Bend Tanya Gabrielian.

(February 6, 2019) – On Saturday, February 16th at 7:30 p.m. at the Morris Performing Arts Center, the South Bend Symphony continues the 2018-19 Indiana Trust Pops Series with a night of song, dance, and romance. Under the baton of Music Director Alastair Willis, the SBSO and veterans of the Broadway stage, Joan Hess and Kirby Ward, will thrill the audience with selections from the Golden Age of stage and screen.
